Conciliation & Mediation

If you are party to a domestic-relations matter involving children, you are required to attend the District Court Conciliation and Mediation Services parent education program. No trial or final hearing will be scheduled until the parties:

• complete the parent-education program and,
• an approved parenting plan

We provide services to:

• Parents who are parties of:
  • dissolution of marriage (divorce) involving children
  • paternity cases involving custody, time, visitation, other access and parenting functions
  • modifications to existing orders
• Legal Community regarding cases related to domestic-relations involving children

Services we provide:

• Two parenting-education programs
  • “What about the children?”
  • “Reaching Beyond Conflict”
• Procedural information
• Mediation and facilitation of parenting plans
• Resource information regarding services in the community for parents and children
